Elizabeth Warren offer proof that she’s….Mexican

There is an old expression that goes like this: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” It’s advice Elizabeth Warren should have heeded.

Warren released the results of an ostensible DNA test she had, er, particularly designed for her:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Sunday released the results of a DNA test that suggests “strong evidence” that she has some Native American blood.

President Trump has mocked Warren, D-Mass., as “Pocahontas” for her claims that she is a descendant of Native Americans. The report, which was provided to the Boston Globe, indicated that Warren most likely had a Native American ancestor dating back six or 10 generations.

Stanford University professor Carlos Bustamante analyzed Warren’s DNA and said the “vast majority” of Warren’s ancestry is European. But he concluded that “the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor.”

“Strong evidence”

She even had recipes to prove it!

The Boston Globe first calculated that this amounted to her being 1/512  Native American but later admitted it wasn’t good at math and recalculated it to 1/1024.

The Boston Globe issued a correction Monday after inaccurately calculating the percentage of Native American ancestry in Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s DNA.

After years of skepticism about Warren’s claim that she is at least part Cherokee, the Democratic Sen. from Massachusetts recently released the results of a DNA test. The test provided “strong evidence” that Warren has a Native American ancestor dating back six to 10 generations.

The Boston Globe originally claimed that this put Warren at somewhere between 1/32 and 1/512 Native American.

However, the Globe admitted in a correction that the upper bound of Warren’s Native American ancestry is actually 1/1024. This would make Warren somewhere between .09 and 3 percent Native American.

That’s pretty small. In fact, it’s less then the average European American:

Additionally, her test methods are dubious:

So you don’t miss it:

Thus what we’re really learning is that Warren is most likely part Mexican.  None of her siblings have been tested. Despite the left wing media riding this horse hard, this is not “strong” at all. In fact, it’s pretty poor research. This tweet from Sean Davis cracks me up and is a good summary:

The findings actually disqualify her from claiming Cherokee Nation status:

As Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) reveals her DNA test purporting to show she has anywhere between 0.1 percent to 1.56 percent Native American ancestry, the liberal lawmaker remains ineligible for Cherokee Nation citizenship.

On Monday, Warren claimed she is vindicated after she released the findings of a DNA test which claims she is at the most 1/64th Native American and at the least, 1/1,024.

The DNA findings, regardless of their legitimacy, do not make her eligible for Cherokee Nation citizenship. Nor does the DNA test make Warren eligible to join the Eastern Band of the Cherokee or the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee.

This from the Atlantic 2012:

Elizabeth Warren is not a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.

Elizabeth Warren is not enrolled in the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

And Elizabeth Warren is not one of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee.

Nor could she become one, even if she wanted to.

Despite a nearly three week flap over her claim of “being Native American,” the progressive consumer advocate has been unable to point to evidence of Native heritage except for an unsubstantiated thirdhand report that she might be 1/32 Cherokee. Even if it could be proven, it wouldn’t qualify her to be a member of a tribe: Contrary to assertions in outlets from The New York Times to Mother Jones that having 1/32 Cherokee ancestry is “sufficient for tribal citizenship,” “Indian enough” for “the Cherokee Nation,” and “not a deal-breaker,” Warren would not be eligible to become a member of any of the three federally recognized Cherokee tribes based on the evidence so far surfaced by independent genealogists about her ancestry.

She would have been off not proving she isn’t as much Native American as the rest of us. Which leads me to a question:

If one had a single relative ten generations ago who was Jewish is that “strong evidence” that one is Jewish?

RUSH: Part-Cherokee Caller Explains Why Elizabeth Warren Is NOT A Cherokee

Rush Limbaugh fielded a call Monday from a woman named Susan who is one-sixteenth Cherokee, and who eloquently explained why Elizabeth Warren is not a Cherokee. (READ: Cherokee Nation Officially Rejects Warren: ‘Dishonoring Tribal Governments’).

Warren made a video with a Stanford genome researcher to promote a DNA test that stated it is possible that Warren might have a very small fraction of Cherokee ancestry — much smaller than is required for tribal membership, and a bit more than half of what the normal white American possesses according to the New York Times.

Here is the Rush Limbaugh transcript of Rush’s enlightening phone call with a 1/16

RUSH: Spring, Texas. This is Susan. It’s great to have you with us.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I am a transplanted Texan. I’m Sooner born, Sooner bred, and when I die, I’m Sooner dead. My great-great grandmom was a full blood Cherokee, and I’m calling via Barbra Streisand —

RUSH: Wait, wait. When you say you are Sooner born and bred, you are from Oklahoma?

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: I just — but you say Sooner born and bred, people in Rio Linda think you’re saying that you’d just as soon be born than dead.

CALLER: No. I am a proud Oklahoman, and I love Texas, too, but my beginning was in Oklahoma. Fauxcahontas says her great-great grandmom was a Cherokee? Well, so was mine. We have, you know, family history, but I’m one-sixteenth Cherokee.

RUSH: Let me ask you a question. You’re one-sixteenth; so you are considered…? That’s a lot. You’re considered —

CALLER: That’s a lot.

RUSH: You’re considered Cherokee; right? So she is…? Her great-great-great… Three times. Great-great-great-grandmom, and she’s 1/1,024th, is she enough to become a Cherokee, to —

CALLER: No! I’m not —

RUSH: — become a member of the tribe?

CALLER: No. And this is the deal, Rush. My grandfather was one quarter. It was his grandmom. My mom was one-eighth. I am one-sixteenth. But if you are not on the Cherokee rolls, then the only tribe in Oklahoma that doesn’t do then. If you don’t… If you’re not on the rolls, and it was shameful.

RUSH: So what do you think she’s doing? What’s she doing with this, Susan?

CALLER: It’s Barbra Streisand, Rush. I’m a 16th. I’m 64 years old almost, in a few weeks. If she were… But it doesn’t matter if your mom or your grandmom or great-grandmom didn’t… The Cherokee are the only tribe in Oklahoma; you had to sign the rolls. And it was shameful for an Indian woman to marry a white man, and they wouldn’t sign up. It was shameful.

RUSH: What about the high cheekbones business? Is that —

CALLER: That’s baloney! I am one-sixteenth, Rush, and I can’t be a Cherokee, and I didn’t want enough their benefits. I was just kind of proud of it. But if your name is not on the roll, you are not a Cherokee —

RUSH: Well, it just goes to show… I mean, here you are one-sixteenth and you’re not eligible, is what you’re saying, if I’m hearing you right. She’s one of 1/1,024th. It’s all about the identity politics with those people. She wants that to say something significant about her. What would that be? I mean, it’s all silly, and these people denying that she used this for employment. I think that’s the sole reason she did it, to be able to demonstrate she had some minority blood to qualify her to be hired at Harvard.

WATCH: Trump Levels Warren After Learning She’s Only 1/1,024 Native American

President Donald Trump slammed Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Monday after learning that her DNA test results showed that she may only be 1/1,024 Native American.

Trump, who has effectively branded Warren as “Pocahontas,” made the comments during a press conference while visiting a Red Cross Shelter in Georgia as he surveyed the damage caused by the recent hurricane.

“Since we already went off topic, Mr. President, Senator Warren released some of her DNA results that show a strong likelihood that she does have Native American roots—” a reporter began.

“How much, 1/1,000th?” Trump asked as multiple people in the audience began laughing.

“Do you owe her an apology?” the reporter asked.

“No, I don’t,” Trump responded. “She owes the country an apology.”

“What about the money that you told her you would—” the reporter continued.

“You mean if she gets the nomination, in a debate where I was going to have her tested?” Trump interjected. “I’ll only do it if I can test her personally.”
